Some body products are purely practical. Others make you linger in the bathroom for an extra five minutes because they smell like dessert and leave your skin ridiculously soft.

This is the kind of body wash that makes an evening shower feel instantly more comforting. The shea butter and vanilla combination has a warm, creamy scent rather than an overly sugary one, and the formula feels pleasantly nourishing on the skin. Similar Dove Shea Butter & Vanilla washes are currently sold in Europe for around €4.95, depending on the format and retailer.

What I like most is that it cleans without leaving that tight, squeaky feeling afterwards. The lather is soft and creamy, while the vanilla scent stays close to the skin instead of taking over the entire room.

2. Dove Pomegranate Seeds & Shea Butter Exfoliating Body Polish — 9.3/10

Price: about €12

This scrub has a completely different personality. It smells fruity, creamy and slightly sweet, with that “something delicious is happening here” effect the moment you open the jar.

The exfoliating particles help polish away roughness and dead skin, while the creamy base keeps the experience from feeling harsh. Dove also formulates this scrub with moisturising ingredients, including shea butter, so skin feels noticeably smoother rather than stripped after rinsing.

I would reach for it once or twice a week, especially before shaving or whenever elbows and legs start feeling a little rough.

3. Plum BodyLovin’ Vanilla Caramello Body Lotion — 8.8/10

Price: about €22

This one is for anyone who believes body lotion should smell almost edible. Vanilla Caramello leans warm, caramel-like and gourmand, with the kind of scent that makes a basic moisturising step feel much more fun.

The formula shown contains cocoa butter and vitamin B5, and the texture looks rich without seeming excessively heavy. It works nicely as the final step after a shower, especially when skin feels dry and you want softness without spending ages waiting for lotion to absorb. The product is also sold internationally under the Plum BodyLovin’ Vanilla Caramello name.

There is something satisfying about body care that does more than simply “get the job done.” A creamy wash, a proper exfoliating moment and a sweet lotion can make an everyday shower feel much more intentional.

These three products keep the routine simple, but the textures and cosy scents give it a little personality — exactly the kind of body care I actually look forward to using.
